Asset Manager | Global Investment and Portfolio Management (Tokyo-based)
We are seeking a motivated Asset Manager to join a Tokyo-based private investment group expanding its overseas business. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who aspire to gain hands-on management experience with portfolio companies across the ASEAN region — with the potential for future overseas assignments.
Key Responsibilities:-
Participate in the management of portfolio companies (primarily in Southeast Asia) as a non-executive director or similar role, alongside senior leadership.

Lead the formulation and execution of business plans, management improvement initiatives, and exit strategies to maximize investment performance.

Oversee portfolio company operations and report directly to the investment committee.

Support new investment sourcing by leveraging networks developed through asset management activities.

Collaborate with overseas offices and local management teams, communicating primarily in English.

Gain real-world management experience by engaging directly with portfolio company executives.

Fast-track your decision-making and business leadership skills by handling multiple live projects.

3–5 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking, consulting, audit/accounting firms, corporate planning, or investment-related business.

Strong interest or experience in business turnaround, restructuring, or value creation.

Native-level Japanese fluency and business-level English proficiency (able to communicate with local teams abroad).

Bachelor's degree or above from a four-year university.

Experience in lender management, solutions provision, or investment advisory roles.

CPA, tax accountant, or legal qualifications.

Background in strategic consulting or investment/M&A operations.

Practical exposure to post-merger integration (PMI) or business management at trading houses (Sogo Shosha).
