Our client is a leading brokerage and investment group based in Hong Kong, with a strong presence across the Asia-Pacific region, providing a comprehensive range of financial services.
 

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will lead the establishment and strategic planning of the custody business. You will be responsible for developing and implementing detailed procedure manuals, workflows, and control measures for asset custody services. Building and sustaining relationships with key stakeholders, including sub-custodians, counterparties, and internal departments, will be essential. You will oversee the setup, implementation, and testing of custody systems, working closely with system vendors and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met. Daily, you will supervise settlement and corporate action operations, covering Hong Kong equities, fixed income securities, global stocks, and bonds. Staying abreast of market changes, analyzing system enhancement needs, and implementing necessary measures to address these changes will be part of your role. Additionally, you will take on ad-hoc projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
 

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • At least 6 years of experience in the global custody and banking industry, with a strong understanding of custodian business.
  • Familiarity with various settlement systems, including SWIFT, CMU, CCASS, Euroclear/Clearstream.
  • Proven experience in leading a team to manage trade settlements and corporate action events.
  • High level of attention to detail, with the ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Capable of resolving settlement issues and conscious of operational risks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communication in Mandarin and English.
  • Ability to work effectively within a Chinese cultural context.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation tools, with the ability to produce well-presented work.
