We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Director of Fund Accounting and Operations to join our client's dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading financial services institution that leverages on cutting edge technology to deliver to the world's largest companies to small and mid-market funds! Key Responsibilities:

  • Fund Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare and deliver a wide range of fund reports for clients, including cash forecasts, Net Asset Values (NAVs), yields, distributions, and reconciliations.
    • Update and review trading, general ledger activity, and pricing of funds to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Reconcile fund records with custodians and transfer agents, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting
  • Complex Investment Oversight
    • Manage complex investments and funds, including international assets, fixed income, and derivative securities.
    • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve fund performance and operational efficiency.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Manage and mentor senior staff and leaders across multiple departments.
    • Exercise broad decision-making authority to meet and exceed operational goals.
    • Provide strong tactical leadership, aligning operational objectives with company-wide strategy.
    • Act as a key liaison with senior management, removing barriers and driving cross-functional success.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management :
    • Act as the primary contact for Japanese institutional clients investing globally.
    • Provide expert guidance and explanations on fund reporting and complex investment structures.
    • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Strategic Influence:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
    • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance operational performance and client satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

  • Fluency in Japanese – This is essential for supporting and engaging with Japanese institutional clients.
  • Master’s degree and 10+ years of related experience (or Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years, or equivalent experience).
  • Proven expertise in fund accounting, operations, and complex investment products.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing senior-level professionals and cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
