About the Opportunity

A well-established global investment institution — with a long-standing footprint across private equity, venture capital, and M&A — is building out its Singapore Corporate Finance function. The mandate is to bring in a Finance Manager to take ownership of the financial operations of the Group Holding Company, working alongside the Finance Director and CFO.

This is a new seat , not a backfill. Until now, the function has been covered part-time from another office in the region. The decision to base the role permanently in Singapore reflects the importance the firm now places on having a dedicated finance lead on the ground — someone who can own the numbers locally, partner with the wider regional leadership, and help shape how the finance function evolves from here.

You would step into a setup where the building blocks are in place, but where there is real scope to put your own stamp on processes, controls, and reporting. The reporting line is into senior finance leadership across the region, with regular interaction across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Beijing.

The Role

Day-to-day, you own:

  • Preparation, review, and analysis of consolidated and statutory financial statements for the Group Holding Company under IFRS
  • The annual budgeting cycle, quarterly forecasts, and monthly MIS — with commentary that actually means something to the people reading it, not just variance tables
  • Group treasury: cash flow monitoring, intercompany funding arrangements, and liquidity planning across subsidiaries and portfolio entities
  • The relationship with external and internal auditors — you are the in-house point of contact, and you run the audit cycle end-to-end
  • Tax compliance across CIT, withholding tax, and indirect taxes, working with external advisors and the relevant authorities
  • Support to investment activities — financial due diligence, valuation modelling, and post-investment monitoring as the team needs it
  • Continuous improvement of processes, internal controls, and reporting infrastructure — including automation and digitalisation initiatives
  • Ad hoc analyses, board reporting, and strategic projects alongside the CFO and Finance Director

The role sits inside a lean, high-calibre team. The expectation is that you operate as a thinking partner to the business, not as a compliance executor. If you spot a better way to do something, the appetite to hear it is genuine.

What Makes You a Fit

You bring 3–5 years of post-qualification finance experience , having built the first chapter of your career inside one of the Big 4 (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG) and come out with a top performance rating — promoted on track or fast-tracked. The service line is open: audit, FDD, valuation, strategy advisory, PMO, digital transformation, internal audit, internal controls — what matters is the foundation, the rating, and the way you were trained to think.

You are CPA, ACCA, HKICPA, or equivalent — qualified within the last 3–5 years, or near-qualified . IFRS is second nature, and you have a working command of group consolidation, treasury, and tax fundamentals — ideally with exposure to a group holding company structure or an investment institution (PE, VC, family office, or multi-asset platforms).

Business-level Mandarin — spoken and written — is essential. You will work daily with investment and finance colleagues in Beijing and Hong Kong, and a meaningful share of board papers, audit responses, and tax memos are reviewed or drafted in Chinese. Fluency in both spoken and written Mandarin is what makes this role workable on day one.

Beyond the technical baseline, the firm is looking for a particular kind of finance professional:

  • Independent thinker. You exercise judgment, you do not wait to be told.
  • Open-minded and proactive. You look for better ways of doing things, including with technology.
  • Rigorous and detail-oriented , but able to lift up and see the business picture.
  • High integrity, hardworking, and humble — these are not afterthoughts, they are how the team operates.
Where you stand out:

The profile that resonates strongest combines the Big 4 foundation with a genuine appetite for technology — scripting in Python, VBA, or SQL applied to real finance work; hands-on use of AI productivity tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) integrated into day-to-day workflow; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker; exposure to ERP / EPM platforms such as SAP or Oracle. Prior involvement in investment-related finance work — due diligence, valuation, or portfolio monitoring — is a clear plus.

This is not a role for a compliance executor. It is a role for someone who wants to help build a smarter, more capable finance function.
