I'm currently partnering with a well-established global alternative investment manager in Hong Kong that is looking to appoint a Finance Manager to join its lean and high-performing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment with broad ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership. Rather than being focused purely on accounting, you'll play a key role across finance, operations and business management, with visibility across multiple international entities.
What you'll be responsible for
As the Finance Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day finance function for the management companies across Hong Kong and other jurisdictions, ensuring the business operates efficiently while supporting strategic growth.
Your responsibilities will include:
📌 Management company accounting, month-end and year-end close
📌 Group consolidations and financial reporting
📌 Cash flow management, treasury, budgeting and forecasting
📌 Liaising with auditors, tax advisors, banks and other external service providers
📌 Statutory reporting and regulatory compliance
📌 Supporting trading operations and settlements when required
📌 Reviewing monthly NAV reports and overseeing outsourced fund administrators
📌 Coordinating fund audits, investor reporting and regulatory filings
📌 Supporting finance-related HR matters including payroll and employee benefits
You'll also work closely with senior leadership on process improvements, business initiatives and projects, making this a broad and commercially focused Finance Manager role.
What we're looking for
✔ Around 8–10 years' experience within finance and accounting
✔ Experience within asset management, hedge funds, private equity, family offices or alternative investment firms
✔ Strong Management Company accounting experience (this is the key requirement)
✔ Exposure to fund accounting and working alongside outsourced fund administrators
✔ Experience managing audits, tax, financial reporting and multi-entity structures
✔ Professional accounting qualification (CPA, HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent) would be advantageous
✔ Excellent English communication skills and the ability to thrive in a lean, collaborative environment
Why this opportunity?
This role offers significantly broader exposure than a traditional Finance Manager position. You'll have the opportunity to own the finance function across multiple jurisdictions, work closely with senior stakeholders, and gain exposure to both corporate finance and fund oversight within a respected investment management platform.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact, broaden your responsibilities and continue developing your career in the buy-side investment management space, I'd be happy to share more.
📩 If this sounds like the right opportunity for you—or if you know someone who would be a great fit—please feel free to send me a direct message or email your CV to diana@f undspartnership.com for a confidential discussion.
