Head of Fund Services

A well-established global fund administration and corporate services group is building out the senior leadership of its Hong Kong fund services business. This is a newly created Head of Funds seat, not a backfill, created to bring sharper strategic leadership, stronger operations, and a steady senior hand to a respected, client-focused team. You would lead both the funds and investor services functions, report into regional operations leadership, and have genuine scope to shape how the Hong Kong business runs.

This is a build-and-improve mandate. In your first year you will get close to the work, including reviews and month-end and the realities of day-to-day delivery, so that you understand where the team is strong and where it is not. From there the focus shifts to the strategic: streamlining how work flows, lifting operational standards, and partnering with the wider service network of the group to run a more efficient Hong Kong team. You will own and deepen key client relationships, and you will work alongside business development on pitches, bringing operational realism to what gets committed to clients. Expect to mentor experienced people, balance competing priorities across two teams, and be the senior operator that clients and colleagues turn to.

You have built a strong fund accounting foundation inside a fund administrator or on the buy-side, and you are genuinely comfortable across the fund lifecycle, including NAV, financial statements and capital calls, rather than only at the oversight layer. You are clearly senior: someone who has led teams, settled in above experienced colleagues, and earned credibility quickly. You think in terms of process and efficiency, ideally with exposure to offshore or shared-service delivery, and you can tell the difference between what should stay close to the client and what should not. You are commercially aware but operationally honest, able to manage expectations and push back when something cannot be delivered well. Chinese language, Cantonese and/or Mandarin, and a Hong Kong or China background with overseas exposure will set you apart. Experience spanning private equity, private credit, real estate or hedge structures is welcome.
