We are partnering with a Japan-headquartered private equity investment platform with a strong track record in buyout investments and value creation across mid-market businesses. As part of its Southeast Asia expansion, the firm is establishing its Singapore platform and launching a new fund.
This is a high-impact, build-stage role where you will take ownership of finance and fund operations from the ground up — working closely with senior leadership in Singapore and headquarters.
The OpportunityThis is not a typical accounting role.
You will be the key finance and operations lead in Singapore , responsible for setting up and running the financial and fund infrastructure — from pre-launch setup to full operational execution post-launch.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lean, hands-on environment and enjoys building processes from scratch.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Fund Launch
- Lead corporate accounting, tax, and audit coordination (liaising with external auditors and HQ)
- Manage expenses, payments, and banking relationships
- Support tax structuring and analysis for fund setup
- Establish workflows and operating frameworks with external fund administrators
- Support administrative and HR-related matters where required
Post-Fund Launch
- Oversee corporate and fund-level accounting, audit, and tax matters across fund and GP/FM entities
- Act as the main liaison with external fund administrators, auditors, and valuation agents
- Support fund operations including:
- Cash management
- Capital calls and distributions
- Financial reporting and audit processes
- Tax reporting and incentive schemes
- Manage asset transition into the fund, including involvement in valuation processes
- Ensure smooth day-to-day financial and operational running of the platform
- ~8–12 years of relevant experience
- Background in:
- Private equity / buy-side platforms, or
- Fund administration (private equity clients), or
- Big 4 (financial services / asset management focus)
- Strong understanding of:
- Fund structures (GP/FM/SPVs)
- Fund accounting and lifecycle (capital calls, reporting, audit)
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a lean environment
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders (HQ, auditors, fund admins)
- A proactive mindset with willingness to take on ad-hoc and operational responsibilities
