Manager / Assistant Director, Finance & Operations Singapore | Private Equity Platform

We are partnering with a  Japan-headquartered private equity investment platform  with a strong track record in buyout investments and value creation across mid-market businesses. As part of its Southeast Asia expansion, the firm is establishing its Singapore platform and launching a new fund.

This is a  high-impact, build-stage role  where you will take ownership of finance and fund operations from the ground up — working closely with senior leadership in Singapore and headquarters.

The Opportunity

This is not a typical accounting role.

You will be the  key finance and operations lead in Singapore , responsible for setting up and running the financial and fund infrastructure — from pre-launch setup to full operational execution post-launch.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a  lean, hands-on environment  and enjoys building processes from scratch.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Fund Launch
  • Lead corporate accounting, tax, and audit coordination (liaising with external auditors and HQ)
  • Manage expenses, payments, and banking relationships
  • Support tax structuring and analysis for fund setup
  • Establish workflows and operating frameworks with external fund administrators
  • Support administrative and HR-related matters where required

Post-Fund Launch
  • Oversee corporate and fund-level accounting, audit, and tax matters across fund and GP/FM entities
  • Act as the main liaison with external fund administrators, auditors, and valuation agents
  • Support fund operations including:
  • Cash management
  • Capital calls and distributions
  • Financial reporting and audit processes
  • Tax reporting and incentive schemes
  • Manage asset transition into the fund, including involvement in valuation processes
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day financial and operational running of the platform
Requirements
  • ~8–12 years of relevant experience
  • Background in:
  • Private equity / buy-side platforms,  or
  • Fund administration (private equity clients),  or
  • Big 4 (financial services / asset management focus)
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Fund structures (GP/FM/SPVs)
  • Fund accounting and lifecycle (capital calls, reporting, audit)
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a lean environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders (HQ, auditors, fund admins)
  • A proactive mindset with willingness to take on ad-hoc and operational responsibilities
Why This Role
  • Opportunity to be part of building a  new private equity platform in Southeast Asia
  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and cross-border stakeholders
  • Broad, end-to-end ownership across finance and fund operations
  • Strong platform for long-term growth as the fund scales
