About the opportunity
A well-capitalised, asset-heavy real estate platform backed by institutional private equity is building out its strategic finance capability across its Asia Pacific markets. This is a Singapore-based seat created to bring genuine forward-looking finance into a business that has grown quickly and now wants sharper decision support behind the numbers. You would join a small, high-calibre strategic finance team that sits close to pricing and data analytics, in a data-driven operating rhythm, with direct and regular exposure to senior leadership.
The role
This is not a month-end-and-variance seat. You would own the monthly P&L across multiple markets, consolidate it, and turn it into the one insight leadership actually needs — the kind of read that spots a revenue dip in one market, traces it to the real driver, and starts the right cross-functional conversation. You would sit at the centre of the monthly business review as a genuine thought partner, and you would rebuild the budgeting and forecasting model from something basic into something that holds up across markets and feeds straight into the operating rhythm and KPI tracking.
In short, you turn the numbers into decisions, and you build the machinery that keeps doing it.
What makes you a fit
You have likely spent 4 to 7 years in strategic or corporate finance, or in a forward-looking FP&A or commercial finance seat where you owned the model rather than just maintained it. You are strong on driver-based modelling and scenario analysis, and you are comfortable building from a blank sheet. You can read a P&L commercially, connect it to what is happening in the business, and hold your own in a room with senior leaders — voicing a view, defending it with analysis, and being challenged on it without flinching.
Just as important, you carry real technical finance rigour. You can speak to consolidation, controls, and the quality of the numbers, because this seat is scrutinised by senior finance as much as by the commercial side.
If you come from a Big Four background, you are welcome here provided you have already made the move in-house and are past the early adjustment out of audit. Real estate or other asset-heavy, capex-heavy exposure is a plus rather than a must. Data fluency — SQL, Python, or BI tools — is a bonus that will serve you well in this environment.
One thing worth being honest about: the right person is moving for the next challenge, not the next pay band. This is a seat for someone ambitious and self-driven who still wants to be stretched, and who is humble enough to be challenged and to collaborate with an existing team.
What is on offer
A competitive base with a performance-based bonus, and something rarer than comp — a near-greenfield mandate to shape how a multi-market business plans, measures, and decides. You get genuine ownership, a direct line to senior leadership, and regional scope from day one. For the right person, this is a platform to become the finance partner the business cannot run its review without.
Open to interim or contract, too
Alongside the permanent search, the business is also open to an experienced candidate on a short-term contract basis (around 3 to 6 months) to support the function through a transition.
This track is strictly for someone who can be hands-on from day one — no ramp-up, no hand-holding. To be clear about what that requires:
- Senior enough to walk in and run the monthly multi-market P&L consolidation and the modelling independently, from week one.
- A real estate or asset-heavy finance background is required for this track (not just a plus), so the operating context is already familiar.
- Available now or on very short notice to bridge cleanly.
If you would need time to get up to speed, this interim track is not the right fit — though the permanent role above may still be. For the right person there may be scope for the contract to extend or convert.
