About the Opportunity

An established cross-border fiduciary and corporate services provider — with deep roots serving China-outbound clients and offshore licences across key jurisdictions — is building out a newly launched trust practice, and this is a foundational hire for it. The firm sits at the intersection of trust, corporate services, and fund administration, and is now investing seriously in growing its trust line.

You would join a small, senior Hong Kong office and report directly to the Trust Director. At the outset this is a hands-on, individual-contributor seat — you own the operational trust work yourself rather than managing a team — but the practice is being scaled deliberately, and the intention is for this person to grow into a team lead as the book and the wider business expand.

The Role

This is a full-lifecycle trust administration seat. You would take ownership of the day-to-day operational running of a portfolio of trust and corporate structures. The framework already exists, so the mandate is to run it well, not to build it from scratch.

Day-to-day, you would:

  • Manage the full trust administration lifecycle — establishment, asset transfers, distributions, resolutions, and account openings
  • Handle KYC and client onboarding, annual filings, and statutory reporting
  • Review the work of junior administrators as the team grows, and provide technical guidance on trust and entity governance
  • Keep on top of portfolio billing, outstanding items, and internal controls
  • Work alongside the business development team on onboarding and due diligence, while BD retains ownership of the client relationships

The trust structures are offshore in nature, with scope for the jurisdictional offering to broaden over time — so you would be building genuinely relevant, in-demand expertise as the practice matures.

What Makes You a Fit

You have probably spent five to seven years in trust administration — whether at a trust company, a TCSP or corporate services provider, or a private wealth and fiduciary business — and you have personally owned the operational side of the trust lifecycle rather than just touching a narrow slice of it.

You are based in Hong Kong and hold the right to work here. You know the Hong Kong trust environment, and ideally you have hands-on exposure to BVI or Hong Kong trust structures.

You are mature, meticulous, and genuinely comfortable working independently. This is a seat for someone who can run operations without a large team around them at the start, and who is energised — not unsettled — by a scaling, non-bureaucratic environment where the practice is still taking shape.

You work fluently in both Chinese and English, and you hold at least a bachelor's degree.

Helpful, not essential: a Bachelor's degree in law or business administration; a STEP or CGI qualification; specific BVI trust experience; and a feel for the legal side of trust work — trust deeds and how assets are structured into a trust.
